Change to innovate and perform—starting with the production method: this, according to Porta Solutions, is the real game-changer. The company has recently expanded its offering by introducing new products designed to meet the multiple needs of manufacturing companies.
The manufacturing sector is in constant evolution, and the companies that know how to optimize their production processes today will be the leaders of tomorrow. Machines make a difference, but it’s the shift in mindset that is the real game-changer. This is the key turning point that companies must embrace in order to stay competitive in the market: investing in innovative technologies and applying a proven, scientific method that allows for more reliable and profitable decision-making. Achieving this requires strong motivation, a genuine desire for improvement, an open mind that embraces change, and significant flexibility—along with solid, efficient tools to rely on. All of this must be guided by a clear, forward-looking vision aimed at achieving the much-sought-after goal of production optimization, which remains the dominant theme for companies operating in the industrial world.
Perfect Balance Between Productivity and Flexibility
Every company has different production needs: flexibility, speed, precision, and efficiency. From standard to more complex productions, Porta Solutions offers the ideal solution to optimize manufacturing processes: the PORTACENTER. This machine represents the perfect balance between high productivity and maximum flexibility, combining the advantages of transfer machines and traditional machining centers. It can quickly adapt to changes in production batches without compromising efficiency, proving to be a versatile and high-performance solution.
The company, located in Brescia, has recently unveiled the fifth generation of the PORTACENTER, which includes two new models: the PORTACENTER Pro and the PORTACENTER Hyper. “Both are aimed at different market segments, as they were designed to meet varying needs and achieve different levels of performance,” says Maurizio Porta, CEO of Porta Solutions.

PORTACENTER Pro
Simple, reliable, and accessible, the PORTACENTER Pro is an entry-level solution designed to meet the needs of small and medium-sized companies. Its compact footprint (27 m²) makes it the ideal choice for companies needing to optimize space. Key technical features include: a tool changer from 36 to 72 tools, a touchscreen human-machine interface, integrated teleservice, ISO Code programming language, and a Mitsubishi CNC. Designed for standard production runs, this machine offers stability, simplicity, and an excellent price-performance ratio.
PORTACENTER Hyper
At the top of the range, the PORTACENTER Hyper is engineered for extreme performance. This premium version occupies a 53 m² footprint. Key technical specifications include: 13,000 rpm, feed speeds up to 50 m/min, and a one-second tool change. Two CNC options are available: Fanuc or Siemens. This machine is ideal for high-volume, high-performance production, particularly in the automotive, fittings, petrochemical, and oil & gas sectors.

PORTACENTER Evo
Positioned between the two previous models is the PORTACENTER Evo, a versatile and powerful mid-range machine offering advanced features and a 38 m² footprint. It is the perfect solution for companies requiring maximum flexibility for complex machining. As the most widely used model on the market, it has over 200 units installed in nearly twenty years of production.
Triple the Efficiency
“The concept behind the machine is the same for all three models: a single machining center with three independent spindles, delivering a production speed three times faster than that of three standard machining centers—all in one process,” explains Porta. “The quality level of the components remains consistently high; what changes are the performance levels, which vary based on the customer’s specific needs: basic, intermediate, or high.” Naturally, the cost also varies. All three models are manufactured in series. The new Pro is the entry-level model in the PORTACENTER family and will be available starting January 2026, with the lowest price in its category. Rounding out the offering is the PORTACENTER 500: designed for machining parts up to 500 mm, it ensures precision and reliability even for the most demanding requirements. Unlike the other models, this version is produced exclusively to order.
Data Analysis to Improve Performance
According to Porta, the future of manufacturing is built on dialogue, the right machines, and an effective method. Technology alone is not enough if it’s not accompanied by a scientific approach—which requires a mindset shift.
“We’ve found that new generations are more willing to get involved, learn, and fully leverage the benefits of digital technology. Numbers don’t lie, and having access to and managing data enables people to make better decisions, solve complex problems, gain a full view of performance, and improve production processes—making them more sustainable,” continues Porta. That’s why having up-to-date data and detailed analysis based on a mathematical model—one that is not subject to interpretation—is essential when choosing machinery for the production department.
“Knowing production costs analytically—labor, floor space, equipment, tooling, energy, preventive maintenance, and so on—and attempting to calculate all the variables that determine the true cost per part, means eliminating risk and gaining better control over strategic decisions, such as selecting the most suitable machines to achieve efficiency and productivity goals,” says Porta. A real-world case study focused on cost per part—comparing the PORTACENTER to three standard machining centers—reveals a total savings of -44.5% for those who adopt Porta Solutions technology. Not only is there a -25.3% reduction in investment cost, but also a -63.8% reduction in space used, a -58.2% decrease in energy costs, and a -50% drop in labor costs. It’s clear that using a single PORTACENTER results in significant energy savings compared to operating three machining centers. And if you factor in three robots, three chip evacuation systems, three fume extraction systems, and so on—everything essentially multiplied by three—the costs are inevitably much higher compared to a single integrated solution.
Reliable and Sustainable
It’s not just about energy costs—sustainability plays a key role as well. Porta Solutions has carefully studied every aspect of the environmental impact of the PORTACENTER, which has proven to be a truly “green solution”. Being able to produce more and better with a single machine doesn’t just reduce energy and maintenance costs—it also significantly lowers environmental impact. How? “By reducing the floor space occupied by machines, it’s possible to optimize layout and limit overbuilding; heating and cooling costs drop, resulting in lower CO₂ emissions; cleaning expenses are reduced, and the use of polluting detergents is minimized,” explains Porta.

“Zero-Risk” Test Drive
Among the various services offered by Porta Solutions is the “Zero-Risk” Test Drive, which allows customers to try the PORTACENTER on their own parts before signing a contract. This provides several advantages: verifying the cycle time presented during the study phase; testing the tooling; making process improvements before purchasing the machine; and verifying setup time when switching between products. All of this helps minimize the risk of making a wrong investment.
In addition, for customers who have purchased the PORTACENTER, the company offers a new product development service, which includes the following phases:
Definition of the optimal machining process
- Tooling study
- Workpiece clamping study
- Cycle time evaluation
- Setup on the PORTACENTER Demo machine
- Tolerance verification with a coordinate measuring machine
- Sampling and related CPK/CMK analysis
Shipping of the complete kit to the customer (fixtures, tools, part program)
This exclusive service offers companies a key advantage: they can continue using their PORTACENTER in production, while Porta Solutions’ experts develop new products using an identical twin machine.
So, it’s not just about having a solid method—Porta Solutions also offers professional and continuous support, helping customers transform their ideas into reality and standing by their side throughout their growth journey.
